The four aims of life are not fulfilled by yoga; they are fulfilled by our actions, by the choices that we make each day. The intention of yoga is to give us a place to start, and sustenance for our journey.
-Rolf Gates, Meditations from the Mat
Day 365 – Through the cycles of death and rebirth I have practiced. My yoga practice has changed much in focus. Once drowning in sorrow to a new day of hope and quiet contemplation of the enormity of this life. There is solace in my practice now. And rightly so, thus, Rolf completes the book, writing:
We show up, burn brightly in the moment,
live passionately, and when the moment is over,
when our work is done we step back and let go.
Victory to our spirits, peace to all beings.
