Seeing

let go

“As a species we have a wondrous heritage of connectedness, of communion, of being present, of celebrating the fact that we are at once engulfed by and at one with the divine.  Our yoga practice allows us to participate in this tradition.  Our willingness to see what we are looking at allows us to perpetuate it.”

-Rolf Gates, Meditations from the Mat:  Daily Reflections on the Path of Yoga

Day 15 – All we have to do is see what is really in front of us. Avidya, or the misunderstanding of of the way things are, permeates through most of our days.  Indeed, in Rolf’s words, “we fret and and fuss over anything and everything.  We have forgotten how to be at peace with life on life’s terms.”  Nature, by nature, remains, “untroubled by the way things are.”  Seeing is truly believing, but we have to remember how to really see.  I think I could have used a little bit of that last night at our CTA meeting, but a fellow AR reminded me that Nature has a way of balancing out.
